What is Redirects for SEO
A redirection is a way to send both users and search engines to a different URL. In other words, redirect your URL to the URL.
Types of Redirects
You can redirect your old url on new url in following three ways;
- 301 - Moved Permanently
- 302 - Found or Moved Temporarily
- Meta Refresh
Difference between 301 and 302 redirect

301 - Moved Permanently
301 redirect is also known as a permanent redirection. The word 'permanent' means that all the properties of the redirected page will be given on the new page;

- Page Authority
- Traffic Value
302 - Found or Moved Temporarily
302 Redirect is also known as a temporary redirection. 302 is used when you want to redirect your site visitors to another webpage, but you are planning to bring the redirected page back after a while. After knowing this, all the properties of the 302 Redirect redirect page will not be passed on to the new page.
Meta Refresh
Meta refresh is a type of redirect performed at the page level rather than server level. This technique is generally slow, and is not recommended in SEO due to poor applicability. Here's usually a five-second countdown using the text "If you are not redirected in five seconds, click here." Meta refreshes the juice of some links, but some links eliminate juice
